Using SQL CE (Microsoft SQL Compact Edition) on your mobile Windows device:
The use of SQL CE on your mobile device requires an ITScriptNet individual device license per device.

This article pertains to ITScriptNet version 3.0 to version 3.2d and where the data collection program is NOT Indago nor an ITScriptNet Solution Pack.

For ITScriptNet-designed data collection programs which are set to use SQL CE on devices running Windows mobile, it is recommended to download the SQL Compact Edition from Microsoft's website and make sure to choose the 'Device Version' (NOT the Desktop version).

Load SQL CE to the device:
Use the ITScriptNet System Console link to install SQL CE to your mobile device.  NOTE: Select Configure Devices in the left pane and make sure that the device model you are using has first been selected in the drop-down in the right pane of the System Console. 

Next, scroll down in the System Console, and use the link at the bottom of the right pane to install SQL CE to your device.  Please refer to the instructions and screen shots in the PDF, which you can download from the link below this article.  The PDF also shows which files will get installed to your particular Windows mobile device.

When the ITScriptNet-designed data collection program is loaded to your mobile device, the program will generate the validation files as text files and send them to the device.  Then, when the data collection program runs (on the device), the text files will get imported into SQL CE (on the device) with the filename extension of .sdf.  The text files are then removed.
