When installing or upgrading to ITScriptNet version 3.0, some users may wish to also retain their existing ITScriptNet version 2.4 for existing data collection programs.
The Installation of ITScriptNet version 3.0 will create a new folder in the directory C:\Program Files that will be named "ITScriptNet". The ITScriptNet Omni version 2.4 resides in a folder in the directory C:\Program Files that is named "ITScriptNet Omni". You can keep both versions on your computer, and your existing software license will still apply.
HOWEVER, be aware that when you are working on two different programs that were written in the different ITScriptNet versions, you should make sure that you use the correct Program Designer version. If you double-click the ITB file from Windows Explorer, Windows will open it with the most recent Program Designer you used. If this is not the version that the ITB was originally designed with, you will either be prompted to upgrade the program or that the program can not be opened. To ensure that you are opening the ITB file with the correct Program Designer version you should run the desired Program Designer version and open the ITB from within it.
Also, only one OMNI Server program or service can be running at a time; and the version of the Omni Server/Service must match the version of the running program that will transfer data. You can not run the 2.x and 3.x OMNI Servers at the same time on the same PC.
