Restrictions:
- This setting only applies to OMNI SERVER connections.
- This setting only applies when using the Load Program or Send Data To PC buttons on the client main menu.
When the button is pressed:
- If RAS is already connected, nothing else is done.
- WiFi setting never attempts to connect.
- RAS always attempts to connect.
- If there is a default connection name on the configuration screen, it is used (3.x and higher).
- If no default is specified, the phonebook is queried to find the list of entries.
- If there is only one entry, it is used. Otherwise the user is prompted to select one.
- For WiFi/RAS
- If Association Checking is enabled, the device checks for WiFi association. If Association Checking is disabled or if the device does not support Association Checking, then WiFi is not used. WiFi is only used if the device supports association checking and the device is actually associated.
- If Associaton Checking is disabled, the device attempts to connect to the Omni server. If it succeeds, then WiFi is used.
- If WiFi was not detected, then the device attemps to connect using RAS. The same rules for default connection name and phonebook apply as for RAS.
- Bottom line when WiFi/RAS is selected - WiFi is only used if:
Association Checking is Enabled AND the device is actually associated
-OR-
Association checking is Disabled but the device was able to connect to the server.
