PRB: Problems with Auto Download and the Dolphin 7200
PROBLEM
Applies To: ITScriptNet V1/V2
Unable to get Automatic Downloading (AutoDownload) to work with a Dolphin 7200. When placing the terminal in the cradle, the AutoDownload Server alternates from Waiting to Connecting.
RESOLUTION

The Dolphin 7200 uses a DOS operating system, which has a filename limit of 8 characters plus a 3 character file extension. For this reason, Program File names must be 8 characters or less. If the program file name is longer than 8 characters, ITScriptNet converts the filename using Microsoft Windows short filename conventions. For example, if your ITB filename is InventoryProgram.ITB, it might be changed to Invent~1.ITB on the 7200. However, your AutoDownload server would be configured to use the full program name. This causes the terminal and server to be unable to communicate.

To resolve this issue, ensure that all programs used on the Dolphin 7200 have ITB file names of 8 characters or less.
