| Among the updates in Windows XP Service
Pack 2, the Windows Firewall is now turned on by default. This firewall will
prevent ITScriptNet network communications from operating unless configured
correctly. The firewall will only block RF and OMNI communications, and will not have any effect on Serial communications. Automatic UnblockingWhen the Windows Firewall is set to the default
configuration, it will display a popup message the first time an ITScriptNet
communications program attempts to connect over the network. To allow
ITScriptNet to communicate, you only need to select the Unblock option the
first time. Once this is done, the firewall will always allow that
ITScriptNet program to access the network. Manual UnblockingIf you later need to manually control whether to allow
ITScriptNet to communicate, click the Start button, and select Control
Panel. Select Security Center. At the bottom of the screen, select Windows Firewall.
This displays the following screen: You can allow or disallow communications by any ITScriptNet program by checking to unchecking the checkbox. Adding a Program ManuallyYou can also manually add a program to the list by pressing Add Program to display the following screen:

Add Port. The ports for ITScriptNet are:
You can also set the amount of access that the program
has to the network. Press Change Scope to bring up this screen: Ordinarily, you need only access your subnet, and not
the internet. |
