7400 Configuration Guide

This guide describes the steps required to configure RF communications on a Dolphin 7400 Portable Terminal.

STEP 1 – Setup IP Address on terminal

Navigate to StartàSettingsàControl PanelàNetwork on the Dolphin 7400.

Select the Cisco Wireless LAN Adapter and click the Properties button.

Set the IP Address to be used for this Dolphin 7400.

STEP 2 – Set the SSID on the Terminal

Navigate to StartàProgramsàCiscoàClient Utility.

Select SSID in the Property list and input the value that your access point has been configured for (SEE Step1 in the Access Point Setup).

STEP 3 – Set WEP Keys on the terminal

Select WEP in the Properties list of the Client Utility (SEE Step 2 for getting to the Client Utility screen) and then select a value for the WEP Keys.

Exit the Client Utility and enter the Client Encryption Manager to set the values of the individual WEP keys. Navigate to StartàProgramsàCiscoàClient Encryption Manager.

You may be prompted to enter the Client Encryption Manager password. This password is defaulted to Cisco but can be changed from the Client Encryption Manager.

Once you are in the CEM (Client Encryption Manager), set the values of the WEP Key(s) to match the values that you set for your access point (SEE STEP 2 of the access point configuration guide).

Check the Status of your connection by running the Link Status program. Navigate to StartàProgramsàCiscoàLink Status.

The association state and signal strength are displayed.
