Release of V 1.2 Batch and Batch Plus to the HHP
channel
Z-Space is pleased to announce the release of our latest ITScriptNet™ – Batch version and our latest product – Batch Plus – to HHP and its distribution channel.
Check out HHP's web site for information and demo downloads. Our latest enhancement of our flagship Batch product includes features added as a result of feedback from VAR’s, resellers and end-users (we are always open to suggestions). Batch Plus adds programming features to the Batch product that take batch data collection programming to a new dimension. RSS Feed
Never again be the last to know! We will be posting all of our web site changes through an RSS feed (V 0.91) so you can be notified timely of newsworthy additions and changes to our web site. There are thousands of sites that syndicate their content in RSS format, and many more being added every day. With an RSS-aware program, called a news aggregator, you can keep up with all your favorite weblogs by checking their RSS feeds and displaying new items from each of them. Rather than visiting all of your favorite sites a few times a day, you can bring the web to you. The news aggregator will periodically check all of your subscriptions to see if any content has been added or updated, and put the new articles in your designated news folders. We are using
NewsGator that runs in Microsoft® Outlook to monitor sites important to us.

Application Highlight
The nursery industry, as do most industries, has unique requirements for identifying product and recording transactions. An application we assisted with recently required the ability to search for an item using the three main criteria of identifying a plant, namely Genus, Species and Variety. Using the Shell function available only in ITScriptNet-Batch Plus, we called the use of an embedded C program to narrow the list of items that match these criteria, making the list smaller with each criteria enter. After the last criteria, Variety, was entered a rather small picklist was presented to the user to select the right item number for the size and grade of the plant they were dealing with. This process was necessary as the plants were not tagged with a bar code (someday we hope they will). In the same application we also used the Shell function to call a special calculator on a quantity field that greatly helped the operator enter rows and columns of plants. function.

Programming Tip
ITScriptNet-Batch V 1.2 supports an auto-download feature that simplifies retrieving data from the portable hand held device. Using auto-download, the operator simply places the device in the Homebase and the data is retrieved automatically without the user selecting any menu items on the PC or terminal, or clicking any buttons. You can also configure the auto-download utility to resend the data collection program and related validation files back to the terminal after the data has been retrieved in order to keep your files up-to-date (Plus feature only). For instructions on how to set up a program to auto-download refer to page 121 of the Batch/Batch Plus User Guide.
